IF you are familiar with the SA XD line you know that the slide cannot be manipulated without depressing the grip safety. My question for you S&W 380 EZ owners is: Do you need to depress the grip safety on your S&W in order to rack the slide?

I got this: Stainless Steel Non-Captured Guide Rod, M&P 5 ONLY [1678] - $23.00 : Welcome to Speed Shooter Specialties and it fits. I haven't been feeling well, so I didn't get to the range to try it out. When I do, I'll report on how it went.

Both places that I tried stated that the guide rod they sent would fit the 4.25 and 5 inch barrels. I'm wondering if the M2.0 5 inch barrel in 40S&W has a different length guide rod than does the 9mm version. Anyhoo, I plan on getting reduced power springs and using them on the factory guide rod.

I have had a few original M&P's and I think the M 2.0 trigger is far smoother than the triggers that I experienced before now. I'm not planning on wasting the money on an Apex trigger. MTCW

I have taken mine apart. The mag body is the same. The 7 round base plate is a pitA to reinstall.
