Thanks for the quick responses and info! 67/68 sounds about right. Found out today that my Grandfather only owned it for a year or less before giving it to my Dad in '68. With the exception of a day or two in '83, it has been locked away since '68. Looking forward to shooting with it again...

My Mom just gave me my Grandfather's/Dad's .38 SPL. I would really like to know how old it is. Can't find anything through S&W, or the net. Friend suggested I try here. This is what I've got- S&W Model 36(no dash) S/N- 614003(no Letter) 2" Barrell, Fixed Sites and Wood Grips w/Diamond Checkered...
