Turkey Vultures in my back yard

I don’t care for them up close, I’d of encouraged them to move on. Yes, I see they went looking elsewhere.

    Florida Python Hunt

I think it would be a grand adventure, the python hunt. I can understand safety concerns, but I’d like to use a shotgun myself. I don’t see a reason to capture any alive. On that type of hunt, don’t always need everyone blasting away when together. One shooter at a time is enough, as long as...

    Lehigh 120gr 357

I like Lehigh bullets in certain applications, as in 68 grains with my 380’s. With the light bullet for your 357, I’d lean towards a mid speed powder, mid charge levels. That would be rather than max charges of W-296/H-110. I’m thinking it would still be plenty ‘warm’ for you, the load...

    Lehigh 120gr 357

The Lehigh data pages are all over the place, not in order. There is some 38 special data with H Universal. I didn’t take note of bullet weight.

    Sierra reloading App?

I noticed my Sierra reloading app went dead not long ago. I have many manuals in print, but appreciated checking on a load away from home. Maybe the reasoning was, why provide something for free?

S&W 65 in 3 inch Compared to the Chiappa Rhino 30DS in 3 inch…Thoughts Please.

For that level of coin, how about a 3” Model 60? One could go even more compact, a little lighter with one of the 2” J frame options.

    556 Bulk Ammo

I at least check prices at sgammo, order at times too. With any net purchase, dealing with a reputable seller is worth a little bit. SGAmmo.com | In Stock Bulk Ammo For Sale

Underwood 68gr defender out performs every hollow point

Truth be known, most of us don’t shoot bad guys very often. That being the case, we are left with various testing methods.

How many do you load for testing

Another thing I think about is the cartridge itself, talking about age & pressure limits. Take the 38 special, a very old, and low pressure round. Say I’m loading for a very modern 38 special revolver, or as is often the case, a 357 gun. I don’t mind starting right near the top of the data...

Snub nose revolver for self defense 9mm or 38sp

I don’t own a 9mm revolver, but I see a lot of mention about bullets jumping the crimp when fired in a revolver. For the most part, 9mm ammo has a different crimp, less strong. I think that needs to go in the decision making.

How many do you load for testing

I don’t have a set number, say you load 50, revolver, test 10-15, you still have the rest for later. With a semi-auto, if to lite, may not cycle reliably. I was just testing some loads with new to me guns in 32 H&R, and 327 Fed. I also like to inspect the last round in the cylinder before...

    22lr in a 22 WMR chamber

But you can safely fire 22 WRF ammo in that mag chamber, CCI sells them. This will take it down to low 22 LR speeds.

Underwood 68gr defender out performs every hollow point

I load those for my 380, using data from the Lehigh site. I have tested function, casual accuracy testing was fine. My main gun with them is a Sig P238. With the 380, often hollow points have poor expansion. I can’t see how these bullets would be any worse. If one had a larger round, may be...

    Large Rifle Primers $$$

Even though many if us reload as a hobby, one has to factor in factory ammo cost. At some point with $20 per 100 primers, $55 lb of powder, $30+ per 100 bullets, and time, etc., it may not be worth it to reload. Yes I’d rather load my own, but if someone just needs 20-40 rounds to setup for...

    Holsters for Sig P365

I’m more of an OWB guy, my recent favorite has been Upper Hand holsters out of Utah. They ride high & tight to the body, kydex. I just bought one for the P238 & P365. Holsters – Upper Hand Holsters
