    Model 41 Survivor

Yeah you can also just lop off the rear portion of a stock barrel and FTE problems go away. I've never done that, I just buy the Clark barrels. I have saved all the original parts for each gun so I can always put them back to stock. We saved this A prefix gun from some kid at a pawn shop...

    Model 41 Survivor

Yup, it's a Clark. I think it's a good barrel. My buddy Brad thinks the Clark barrel is terrible, but he does have pretty high standards.

    Model 41 Survivor

The original one is from 1959. The one setup for competition is a 1964. Both were made well before the "A" prefix.

    Model 41 Survivor

I picked this up a while back. Pretty sure I paid to much for it then. A great gun, in unmolested, almost pristine condition. I can't bring myself to alter it for competitive use, the original intention. I shot is yesterday and it runs like a champ. 2nd picture is one of my other 41's we use...

How much is our S&W 3913 worth?

The 3913's are nice guns. Every time I pull one out and shoot it, it's always a pleasant surprise. My wife carried this one for many years. It's had just shy of 9,600 rounds through it. But lets not go overboard with how good these guns are as CCW weapons. 3rd Gen Smith's -require- regular...

    Aluminum Grip Model of 1891?

You may be correct. They are quite heavy, that is why I assumed they were lead. Lead would crack if it was poured at the incorrect temperature. Never worked with pewter.

    Aluminum Grip Model of 1891?

Found the S/N on the barrel. only 2 digits 15 . . . so it looks like the barrel matches the frame. Color me shocked. I think the frame might be chromed. The barrel is nickel, no question. S&W 91 by spencerhut, on Flickr

    Aluminum Grip Model of 1891?

The serial number is 18,215. Should there be a number on the barrel?

    Aluminum Grip Model of 1891?

The plot thickens. The grips are not aluminum, they are lead. Something tells me hand washing was not as big a deal back then as it is now. New 986 Pro lube

It should be good to go out of the box. If anything just run a clean, dry patch through the barrel and each cylinder to make sure there is not an excessive amount of oil in them. Try to clean any oil out from under the star/extractor and rear of the cylinder also as this just attracts debris and...

    Just a 19-4 Smolt

Yeah, me to. It's sort of the odd duck among my Smith's. Shoots like a dream. Whoever did the trigger did it just right. It loves lightly loaded lead bullets. Anywho . . . just sharing.
