SmithNut, The firearm is 100% original with the exception of the hogue grips. I had my father order the gun for me back when i was in the army, but he later clamed that he got it earlier. So I have no idea. I know that it was in the aluminum case and had rosewood combats originally

its not a -0, as it looks like any current production 627, it just has non-flutted cylinders, no-lock, gold bead patridge front sight, and factory relief cut for full moon clips. Open the crane and it says 627-PC, and a SN that the book says 1989. So, yah....I am scratching my head a little.

Thanks for the info. The one question that I have, is that my SN is not condusive to what you provided. I looked it up in the book and found it to be 1989. Correct me if I am wrong, but I didnt think the 627-PC 8shot came out until like 95. SN: BDM0045 thanks

Have a question for all you experts out there. While visiting a local shop, I saw a 629-2 moutian lion edition smith. It was in decent shape on was $625. That being stated, has anyone heard of this edition/model before, and is it worth the investmant, or just pick up a standard mountian gun...
