3min for a tune on the pipes, to show some gratitude to a couple of Marines is a hell of alot less irritating than a kid screaming his head off for 15min, or some slob that eats with his mouth open.
no other mark of any kind on the blade-- unless I can get the habaki off, which seems to be pretty stubborn.
BTW, I study Iaido currently, I've been in martial arts most of my life.
excellent...is there anything else I can find out about it? Sukemitsu..fairly common name?
I don't suspect the blade is anything super special.
Can I find out where it was made?
There were alot of different "nihonto" made during the war. Some cheap, stamped out- to full blown family heirlooms and everything in between. Alot depended on your rank, and how much you could afford. Here's a good reference site:
