I have Hogue Bantams on my 642. Same size as the originals, with a better cut for a speed loader. I have had no issue with "excessive tackiness", and they feel great.

Could not agree more. Love my Mika holsters. Also have an IWB for my 642, that is very comfortable.

I have been told, on more than one occasion, leave them empty or fully loaded. It is the loading and unloading that weakens the springs.
