California has went around the corner i see

Simple. Just like the government itself, the movie industry is largely exempt from these laws.

The 2nd Amendment - An Epiphany?

I think everyone who studies the constitution and the background that led to its creation, even in passing, knows exactly what it means. There are some who don't want it to mean what it says. So obfuscation and re-interpretation is their only avenue of recourse.

    CCW in Chicago?

That's news to me. I didn't think nonresidents of Illinois could get a FOID because the application requires your Illinois DL number. Somebody from Illinois straighten me out.

Glock vs. M&P-yup. I'm askin' it.

I have Glocks and M&Ps in both 9mm and .45 ACP. I prefer the Glocks. Probably for reasons that are subtle. Less top heavy, better recoil characteristics, MUCH better trigger. M&P is okay, heck even good, just prefer the Glocks. I admit that I haven't spent extra money for the M&P...

Unloading 9mm trigger is still cocked (do I have to dryfire everytime I unload)

Of course, you are right. At some point you will have to pull the trigger on a sigma in order to clean it. What I think isn't a good idea is to get in the habit of "rack the slide + pull the trigger" as an unloading Tip, Technique, or Procedure (TTP). Like this. That will work every time...

    Question to conceal carry holders...

There is a course of fire in Missouri plus class time. Can use any pistol/revolver, carry any pistol/revolver.

    Question on Jerry Kuhnhausen book

I doesn't look like it. I'm perusing my copy and everything in here is a hand ejector. The Title Page also indicates that it covers only the J, K, L, and N frame revolver actions. It doesn't cover any topics, procedures or parts diagrams for top break revolvers.

Unloading 9mm trigger is still cocked (do I have to dryfire everytime I unload)

Just as a safety issue; I'm not in the habit of pulling triggers on "Known Empty" guns. Unless I'm at the range and there is a specific downrange direction, I just make sure it's empty and leave it cocked. Pulling triggers subconsciously whenever you unload a gun is a bad habit to get into IMO.

Shortening the stock on a Mossberg Maverick shotgun?

I cut about an inch off of mine. The screw channel extends into the stock for several inches. Once you cut it you will have to drill new pilot holes for the wood screws to fasten the pad back on. Also, the pad itself has a metal insert so you can only take off a specific amount of rubber...

What made you S&W auto fan?

I came into them by accident. A friend had asked to help him learn to re-load and his gun was an HK in .40 S&W. I wanted a similar caliber to proof the loads before our training session, so I bought the dies and supplies to re-load and the cheapest .40 in the case was a pristine 4003 with...

    Interstate Travel

That's the hard way to find out that gun laws in the USA are not uniform throughout the states, that's for sure. But in her defense, imagine if we treated our other rights like this. For instance, no woman's suffrage in, say, MA. Or no free press in NJ. No 5th amendment rights in IL...

    Finger on the Trigger?

There are precautions taken for the sake of safety that we wouldn't necessarily take if we know trouble is waiting for us. I think Col Cooper recognized this early in his teaching career and did the gun community a favor by stressing safe gun handling. It is taken too far sometimes, but...
