If you could only have one handgun - the Model 66?

The S&W mod 66 is an awesome revolver and I have a couple. But I also have several other S&W models and other brands of 357 Mags. If I could only have ONE 4" 357 mag, it would be a Ruger GP 100. That is just my opinion and that is also why I own several different brands and models.

CCW revolver? Model 19, 66… I’m just not sure. Ditching the SP101 idea…

I have several Ruger revolvers and didn't like the triggers in any of them so I worked on them. Wolff Gunsprings, and some 1600 grit emery cloth did wonders for the triggers. They all are not awesome shooters both single and double action. I even worked on all of my Smith & Wessons and Dan...

    28-2 patrolman

It's an awesome gun and very desirable. In Western Kentucky it would go for $700 to $800. Of course, if I were buying it, I would try to talk you down to $200 for the fun of buying.

WTB .45 Colt or .455 Webley Barrel.

Hello S&W Friends. I have a nickel plated, 4 Screw, Tripple Lock made in the late 40s that is chambered in .455 Webley Mark VI. The barrel has been shortened and I would like to replace it if a barrel can be found. I believe an older model 45 Colt barrel will work as well. The cylinder has...

    Online Ammo suppliers to avoid.

Hello S&W friends. What are some online ammo suppliers to avoid? Are there any brands that have gotten really bad that should be avoided as well? Thank you. Steve

    455 Cylinder Original?

I have an older S&W that is stamped .455. Sadly, the barrel has been shortened, chromed and the cylinder has been milled to allow thicker rimmed cartridges (45 Colt) to be fired in the gun. Since this was done before I bought it, I got it for a VERY GOOD price, I have been using it as a 45 Colt...

    Model 14 questions.

It has Houge Monogrips on it now and I want to dress it up a little so I think a nice set of target stocks will look good.

    Model 14 questions.

Hello S&W friends. I have a Model 14, with 6" barrel, made in 1959 that has an unusual shape square frame. The front of the lower butt is cut at a 45-degree angle. I have worked on several S&W revolvers and can't remember ever having one shaped like this. Would someone explain the reason for...

Ejector problems for 1957 4 Screw 22 Combat Masterpiece

I have taken ejectors out that were way overtightened without harming any parts. I place the ejector between two pieces of soft wood, put it in my vice and clamp it down tight. Then I wrap the cylinder in several layers of soft cloth, take a large pair of Channellock pliers, firmly grip the...

    Mod 66 cylinder won't unlock.

Hello S&W Forum I have a 66-1 my brother gave me. A few years ago, I took it apart, cleaned it and replaced the stock springs with Wolff springs. It shot and cycled very well. In December of 22 he showed it to me saying he couldn't open the cylinder. I said I would take it home and find the...

    Ruger Vaquero .44 Magnum

I have a 7 1/2-inch Ruger super Redhawk that I absolutely love shooting. I bought it about 10 years ago by accident. My buddy was looking at it and said, "Here take this". I took it thinking he had hurt his hand or something. Why he wanted me to take was so he wouldn't buy it. And of course, as...

I NEED HELP!!!!! S&W Governor Parts

Hello Forum. I need a shell extractor for a Governor Z frame revolver. I have searched several of the gun parts sites and cannot find anyone that has parts for this revolver. Does anyone know where parts for these guns can be found? I tried an extractor from a N frame and while it fit in...

    Pricing Revolvers is Difficult Today

Hello S&W addicts. I am amazed at some of the sellers I have tried to work with on some of the gun buying sites. The prices for most guns I am attracted to are off the scale so I won't even make an offer. I have purchased a couple recently that I am happy withn. One, a NICE S&W 657, the gun...

.41 Magnum; it is like 10mm Auto, but for adults with taste and class.

I love shooting all of my 41 magnums. Either the S&Ws, Dan Wessons or Rugers. I do believe the Dan Wesson is the most accurate in my old hands, but all of them kill paper very well.:D:D:D Looking for more of them in any brand.
