Thanks all... I appreciate your suggestions and will give them all careful consideration. Excited to pull the trigger (yeah, pun intended) on another gun.

    Recommend a J-Frame?

Hi everyone. I am looking to buy another carry piece and am leaning toward a S&W J-Frame. Right now I carry a 9mm Sig Sauer 228 and even my larger .357 S&W 581 under a coat in cold weather. However, on summer days when it's just too hot I find myself leaving the house without a gun, and that's a...

    S&W Model 581: Holster recommendation?

Help me out with a holster recommendation for my S&W Model 581. Prefer a thumb break, as this will be mostly for woods carry in some pretty rough country. If the holster can be worn cross draw as well as strong side, that would be even better for comfort while driving. Thanks in advance.

    Nothing says I love you...

...like a S&W .357. Picked up my Valentine's Day gift today, a Model 581. (Nice to have a wife who simply smiles and says "Sure...go ahead.") Appears to have been shot very little. This will be my woods/truck/house gun. I know some S&W fans are dismissive of this model's looks, but boy I like...

Mod 27 - shoot or safe queen?

To shoot or not to shoot? That is the question... Two years ago I came across a NIB 1978 Colt Diamondback in .38 special, unfired with all of the papers and original box. I bought it and shot it. Yes, its value on one scale has depreciated, but on the scale that counts for me its value has...

    My K-22's D.O.B. ?

Thanks Thank you for the information. (This gun has three side plate screws and the trigger guard screw--unless you also count the rear sight screw.) Again, my apologies for the lack of pics. Love the gun.

    My K-22's D.O.B. ?

Could someone please tell me the date of manufacture of my K-22? Serial # K72XXX Also, what screws "count" when determining whether a revolver is a three, four, or five screw? Sideplate screws alone? Sorry, no pics as of yet. Thanks!

S&W Model 27 or Colt Python?

I want a shooter, something that can ride my hip in the woods.

S&W Model 27 or Colt Python?

Thanks once again... Boy, talk about food for thought. This has been fun, not to mention highly educational. I have a Colt Diamondback in .38 special--advertised as unfired, when purchased--which is a real hoot to shoot. The gun store clerk was a bit distressed when I told him I wasn't going...
