    Calvin Goddard

A retired deputy friend of mine just gave me a pile of old catalogs, pamphlets, and some paper back books. All are gun related. Each item is stamped "Calvin Goodard." I know who he is, he is known as the father of comparative ballistics. He worked on the St Valentines murder, Sacco and Vanzetti...

proud to be revolver shooting fuddy duddy

I agree that an LEO today should be a least as well armed as the bad guys. My last service gun was a Sig Sauer. My daughter between he gun and extra mags carries about a box and a half of ammo in the same space as my 12 round loop carrier. I was just thinking about the olden days. Swampman

proud to be revolver shooting fuddy duddy

Well armed When I was a young man starting out in law enforcement I armed myself with a Model 66 4", 12 extra rounds in loop holders, one speed loader, and a model 36 in an ankle holster (which I sweated the bluing off). My car was also equipped with a Remington 870. I felt extremely well...

    Smith and Wesson number 2

I am absolutely sure that the hinge and screw have been incorrectly modified. I know I would be money ahead if I just bought one in working order. I just don't want this ending up in junk box. I am going to reach out to Matthew Sinberg a gunsmith recommended by Terry. Swampman

    Smith and Wesson No 2

I have a S&W No 2 in 32 rimfire. I do not want the gun restored but I would like it to be made functional. It needs a new hand and the barrel hinge is loose. Any recommendations on a gunsmith that can fix this? I don't mind waiting for the work but two years is my limit.

1st Model Triple Lock nickel with Steer Grips

Thank you guys. Lee are you the rifle guy? If so this got a little more interesting. I found several photos of Wolf and Klar grips that look the same. As I said before the Triple Lock was in a safe deposit box in southwestern Wisconsin for at least 40 years, based on bank records. In the...

1st Model Triple Lock nickel with Steer Grips

This is my first time posting. I have been an S&W shooter and accumulator all my adult life. I have a question. About a year ago a very good friend of mine asked me to look for a first model triple lock for her husband a retired Sheriff's Deputy. I found one in excellent condition. It was for...
