That's a different approach to the safety that I never thought of. I might try that. I've never liked the idea of a safety on my Shield. I know with training, it can be done. I just choose not to.

GKC is dead on. I have the SD40VE and it shoots similar to my Shield 9. Whichever VE is longer and soaks up more of the recoil. But I think I could tell a noticeable difference if I shot a 9 and 40 Shield back to back. Or a 9 or 40 SD.

It really is a nice gun. Don't think you'll be disappointed.
