    500 mag range report

I have been shooting 370 grainers with mine, hardcast with gas check. My load data showed 35.5 grains of H110 for the max load, that is moving it at 1600+ fps. I was shooting 33 grains, just over 1500 fps with it. My load showes right at 2000 ft/lbs of energy at the muzzle. You must really be...

PC 500, a day at the gun range.

What a great day at the range. Seldom does everything go so well, with so much fun. I am looking forward to doing it again. This is the Performance Center 500 magnum. 10" barrel with a 3/4" muzzle brake. I am shooting my hand loaded 370 grain Ranier lead bullets with a copper gas check...

386 Night Guard for sale or trade - Traded, thank you. -

I have a 44 Night Guard as well, and don't really "need" two of them right now. This is a Smith, 357, 7 shot. Has a 2.5" barrel, scandium frame, titanium pins, stainless cylinder and barrel. I have shot it about 25 times. Recoil is extremely manageable, after all, it is an L-frame. It is...

    Loctiting the flag into place?

I think that someone here posted about it. What do you think of putting some loctite behind the flag, against the frame, letting it dry, and expecting it to prevent the flag from shifting under heavy recoil? I'm thinking about doing this to my 329 NG, as yet it is unfired. My 386 NG has...

Tell Us About Shooting Your Night Guard Revolver.

I have a 386 NG, it is my daily carry. I carry it from morning til night in a Smartcarry. It is a great piece. I have put a couple of boxes of .357 through it. It is a great shooter, no misfires, no lock failures. Some very hot Sellier & Bellot was sticking in the chambers, but everyone knows...

327 Night guard vs 386 NG

I have the 386 NG and the 329 NG. I haven't shot the 329 yet, I may get to it tomorrow. I've had it for 3 or 4 weeks. My 386 is my daily carry. I carry every day, morn til night, in a Smartcarry. I've carried for almost 25 years, and this is the best method that I have ever used. I can...

What model do you think is S&W's best fighting revolver?

The Clint Smith 44 special was designed for that purpose, even though most of them sit in a case. I like the idea of sturdy fixed sights and a 44 special. That is why I purchased my model 329 Nightguard.

    Dirty Harry's 29 doesn't work right..

I have read in several places that the gun was a .41 magnum in disguise, I also saw it on that movie show that puts subtitles with all the details on the screen. Don't know if its true, but thats what they said.

I read it on the internet...642's

Machining? I don't think that machining is even close to the issue. Not even close. I think that it has much more to do with some people sitting in a board room, deciding in which direction the company should go. ie: locks are politically correct, and may spare us some litigation somewhere...

I read it on the internet...642's

It must be true, no? I read that S&W had the frames in stock, and decided to use them, hence, the no lock 642's. Got mine. I also "read" that this is a special run of 4000 to be made. Who knows. I did get one of the no-lock 637 a few years ago. Nice pistol, too nice to carry, I thougt...
