boy I miss my 3rd gen Smiths!

Sorry for your loss. I feel for you, especially since I had to do the same thing over the last year or so. I got rid of some guns that I swore I'd never sell, but when you need money, you need money. Hopefully next year I can start buying again, and I hope the same is true for you.

The end of the Steel Pistol?

I prefer metal frame guns also. In fact, not that it's important just personal opinion, I've never liked the feel of the polymer guns. Could be because I'm an old guy, but guns and steel go together for me. I have a 92fs, a 1911, and a 4046 that I bought last year. The 4046 was my first 3rd gen...

    4006 for a Glock 21?

I have the DAO model, the 4046, got it last week and I love it. True, it's a little heavy, but I like the feel of steel, and the gun feels good in my hand. As soon as I can sell some stuff I intend to get some more Smith autos, and the 4006 or the TSW model is definitely on my list. I think...

What is the life expectancy of a Walther P22?

I bought a new P22 last year, mine's been just fine. Some slides have broken, but I seem to recall that a lot of them were on the long barrel model. If you do a Google search for "P22 Bible", you'll find some great tips and techniques for making your P22 last longer and work better.

New Chiefs Special 45 Pricing and Question?

You've made a good find. I found a cs45 that came from an actual police chief, it's been fired but looks to be in close to new condition complete with all packaging and paperwork. I'm going to get it next week, if I can sell a couple things. This could be an addiction. I went to buy my first S&W...

    Looking at a 4046 today

Well, I looked at the 4046. I would consider it at least a 90% gun. A little expected holster wear, no dings or scratches. The barrel super clean, no problems at the muzzle either. The gun is quite tight and works slick. The two mags with it may well not be the original ones, but they are quite...

    Looking at a 4046 today

Hello to all. I'm new on here and I have found a world of great information. I came here looking for info on a 4046 and have spent several hours doing searches. I've pretty much decided that the 4046 is well worth grabbing. I am old, and old school, and I like the feel of steel guns. I do not...

Another new guy from South Carolina

Hello to all. I came across what looks to be a good deal on a 4046, but I am not real familiar with the model. So, I came here searching for any information I could find. Decided to stay and check out the forum. If I get the 4046 I'm sure I'll have some questions. Again, hello to all.
