I bought a new P22 last year, mine's been just fine. Some slides have broken, but I seem to recall that a lot of them were on the long barrel model. If you do a Google search for "P22 Bible", you'll find some great tips and techniques for making your P22 last longer and work better.

FWIW you might look at a 6906. I bought one last week along with a 4046, and the 6906 is an absolute dream to carry. let us know what you end up with.
