    686 cs-1 M 3 inch barrel price? Value?

Not flush with cash, and not hungover. I bought it after seeing it mentioned in this thread. I've wanted one for several years, and remember just a few years ago when they could be purchased for $600-$700. They keep going up in price, and I wanted to get one while I could (and for more reasons...

SOLD ON ANOTHER FORUM S&W Model 57 .41 Mag, 4", blued

For sale: S&W Model 57 in .41 Magnum, 4", blued finish. It is a "no dash" model with the "N" S/N prefix. Pinned barrel, recessed cylinder. I am the third owner of this gun. I bought it from a S&W collector, who bought it from the original owner. I have not shot it, and the guy I bought it from...

    TRADED 686 PC 2.5" .357

Hi, I would like to trade my 686 PC. It is in excellent condition. There are no marks on it, and it has never been carried. It's only had 3 or 4 cylinders worth of ammunition shot through it. It comes with the box and paperwork. I can provide my Gunbroker information to anyone that wants to...

    S&W sent a new replacement for my 686+ 3"

It's come up pretty frequently on the forum that S&W is sending out a lot of guns with canted barrels. I had a badly canted barrel on a 686SSR. I sent it back, and they had it fixed and back to me in about 2 weeks.

I don't really care about titles, but if you want to check the dictionary:

    Small pin on slide

In the early models, this pin is solid and extremely difficult to get out. It is a roll pin in most models, though, and S&W recommends replacing it if you take it out. There's not much of a reason to take it out if the extractor's not messed up.

I got pulled over today while carrying.. Didn't tell the cop

The Supreme Court has ruled that refusal to consent to a search (alone) does not equal reasonable suspicion. (United States v. Fuentes)

I got pulled over today while carrying.. Didn't tell the cop

I'm no lawyer either, but I do have extensive experience with the Carroll doctrine and searching vehicles. You also appear to have not read the full FLETC article that you posted the link to: If that's not enough, I can send you the Powerpoint I use when teaching vehicle searches.

Not true. Warrantless searches of vehicles are very common. As long as the two requirements of the Carroll Doctrine are met (Vehicle is readily mobile and probable cause exists), a vehicle can be searched based on PC with no need for a warrant or consent. EDIT: In most states, anyway.
