model 10-1
I also have a "101" purchased it several years ago and is in excellent condition.
shoots likes brand new. If it was fired it was not much. serial number shows manufacture late 1961 it 1962.
Never go to california, it is a state filled with anti-gun communists. I do not visit there, travel through there, buy products made there. I try to avoid all things california
I am a retired Police officer. I was trained on a model 64, 4" 38 special. Carried one for 12 years every day and fired thousands of rounds, before we switched to 9mm then 45acp semi auto.
I tried to fool myself into thinking the semi-auto was better but if I had to have only one gun for the...
I hand load 38 special/ .357 mag. Most of my cast lead bullets come from a 140 grain SWC lee mold using wheel weights. Are there any thoughts on this load for defensive carry. I keep my 38 special loads at about 850-900 fps. I have never tried an expansion test on the bullet in any type of...

I'm not necessarlly looking for a combat pistol, just something "special" a "one of" so to speak. Oh is money were no object.. but I punch a clock like everybody else...;)
Has anyone ever heard of converting a k frame 38 special to 41 special.

there are loads of m-64's police trade ins floating around cheap.
just a thought...
tough question. I carried a model 64 38 special for many years "on the Job" never felt out gunned. Now that I'm retired I carry a M-60 in 357mag or my tried at true m-10. 4 inch heavy barrel. old habits die hard i guess.
I believe that the 9mm round itself is fine for defensive uses, its the bullet that makes the difference. My agency's duty weapon was the beretta 92fs. The duty rounds was the 147 grain sub-sonic. I always felt the bullet was too heavy and slow for the 9mm.
The 124's are way faster. We did...
