Model 640 I just picked up one myself dating from '91 with Pachmyer grips - can't wait to shoot it.

I know this is an old thread but I just bought a 1981 Model 36 nickel; has some wear on it & beneath the grip there are some #s someone scratched in it. Any suggestions on how to best polish the wear and address the etched #s? Thankks.
