    Have gun. Will road-trip.

Hello everyone. Interested in getting feedback from many of you on what guns you take with you when traveling (more specifically, driving) within areas that have the same laws. Let's try to leave the legality issues out of it and assume you can carry what you want wherever you're going. What...

    Model 57? Worth the money?

After trying to negotiate they wouldn't bite - so I ended up spending that money on a new gun. Sad because I would've had it if they were selling for a reasonable price...but with all the research I've done, I decided $800 plus tax was way out of range for the condition it was in.

    Handled a new S&W M-29 4 inch today

I hear you on this. I recently started a thread on the grip issue with the new 29s. Because it seems as though Smith isn't really making them anymore, I came across one and bought it. Love love love it, however, the new walnut stocks are very thin. I haven't yet decided whether or not I like...

    New Classic Line

Sure is. Good find too. It's getting harder and harder to find any of the newer production "classics." Every time I run into one I buy. Interesting though that not too many others in my area seem to be interested in the line - probably a testament as to why Smith stopped the current production...

    Big Bore Conundrum

Didn't realize a .460 lets you shoot .454. That seems like an obvious choice then.

    Big Bore Conundrum

Oh boy that's such a fun situation. Wouldn't it be fun to go get a .454 casull just for shiggles. Take it to Alaska too!

    Model 29s - Let's see your grips.

Something about putting black rubber onto a dark blue gun just doesn't seem right to me. Anyone have any pics of that setup?

    Model 29s - Let's see your grips.

I just recently picked up a Model 29-10. After my first round at the range (remind me to never buy cowboy action loads ever again), I think I want to change out the stocks. Something just doesn't feel right about the N frame and the standard stocks - my hand seems to want to ride up pretty...

Need opinions on grips for my 15-7 and 64-8.....

I have a no dash model 64 that was modded at the sheriffs office to have a bull barrel to match the later production 64s. It came with the pachmyr uglies but I got both a hogue monogrip and a wood grip for it. Love them both and regularly switch between the two, depending on what I'm using the...

    Model 48

Funny you mention it because I just fondled one today. Have no experience actually using one, but I'm a sucker for the new classic line. Anyway, if you like the caliber, I would assume its a great shooter, but other than that...never really peaked my interest.

    S&W 686 or Ruger GP100?

Looks like the consensus so far is old 686 or new GP100. I have a shot a lot of both and own a couple of each. In my experience...it completely depends on the OP's "Philosophy of Use" (that's a Nutnfancy term for ya). In my experience, the 686s are excellent guns. No flaws and no reason NOT to...

That 585 is a beauty. I have a 6 incher and love it. Going for the 4 inch 29 next. I think I've just made up my mind typing this post.

    New Classic Line

Yeah the older 36s seem to be the better buy. There are three used ones at my shop now all in pretty good condition for around $475 - a much better deal than 700+ for a new one IMHO.

    New Classic Line

There's a 6.5 inch Model 27 in my local shop that I'm getting quite close to picking up. I wanted the 6.5 inch 29 but can't seem to be having the same luck as everyone else. They do still have on 4 inch in stock though. Just can't decide which one I want. I'll have to get one soon though because...
