They repaired mine and while it may not be the most elegant of solutions,
it works now where it didn't before.
And I have put 500 rounds through it since the repair.
There's no...
I was just at a Gun Show in Ohio last weekend,
and three different dealers had Shield 40's on their tables.
All of them had serial numbers beginning with HB,
none of them had dimpled magazines,
and the release didn't seem to really click like my DXX serial
number does now after having been...
As a 30 year old physician,
I certainly hope that you do not jump to
conclusions regarding the diagnosis of your patients
the same way that you have jumped to a conclusion here.
Sorry to disagree, but perhaps you should have read
through all of the posts before offering your opinion like this.
If you had read even half of the posts here,
then you would realize that not all serial numbers
have the problem, and that it is with the extended magazine.
Granted, there are...
While I would be very interested in reading what they have to say,

and I've never heard of other gun manufacturers having a slide reset issue.
And since it's a S&W caliber (hence the name .40 S&W)
shouldn't they know the specifications of...
Mine does that every once in a while and I smack the back end of the slide, and it's fine.
I thought I missed lubricating something.
But after seeing your post, now I'm wondering.
I sent mine back for the mag drop issue,
and they replaced the release and dimpled the mags, but nothing with the...
I paid $449 at a local Gun Show for my .40,
but every dealer in my area had quoted me the same price, even though they didn't have any in stock.
So when I saw one sitting on a dealer's table priced at MSRP,
the paperwork was started, and I didn't even question the price.
Unbelievable ,
and at $70 off MSRP in addition to getting both calibers.
Even if you send the .40 back to S&W immediately, it's worth it.
Play the lottery tonight,
Luck like this doesn't come often.
EXPLOIT IT !
