I've had my M-43 Firestar 9mm for 20 plus years.
I consider the Firestars to be the single most "shootable" sub-compacts ever made and mine is still a favorite after all these years.
The physical size of a PPK, but an ounce heavier than a Ruger P-95.
As far as the firing pin issue, if you...
Absolutely, yes. Ruger Lightweight Commander in 9mm... until I transitioned to my Steyr C9-A2 MF for work carry. Ammunition capacity wins again. :(
It's getting weird out there and rats run in packs. The world we live in, I suppose.
I got a 760 as a Christmas present 50-odd years ago (the plastic-stocked model)... I still have it!:D
Just keep the felts oiled and it will keep chugging along seemingly indefinitely.
Great little guns!
One I don't see mentioned is the Czechoslovakian VZ-58. I have two of the Century Arms VZ-2008s (3rd Gen) and they are great shooters and not typical of some of Century's "drunken monkey" produced firearms.
The Czechs always were fantastic weapons designers, and the 58 is an excellent rifle in...
I'm just taking a guess here, but your revolver looks for all the world to be a model 96 that was cut to a 4-inch barrel length, and rather expertly at that.
Although it does look utterly factory-done.
Either way, it's an interesting piece!
It's a gun that Taurus should have made, IMO...
I've been using this combination at work with a Ruger SR1911 Lightweight Commander for nearly 3 years and in 35 plus years of using every shoulder rig under the sun, it's the most comfortable system I've found.
This holster for autos:

Or this holster for...
I just lucked into a NIB set of K-Frame Square Butt Uncle Mike's off e-bay for a Buy It Now price of $20!:D
I was more than happy with that price. They rarely turn up for under $50 these days.
Perfect for a recently purchased 66-1 that needed grips.
Not the prettiest in the world, but very...
I had no idea that there were this many other Taurus Model 96 owners!
It appears to be the one Taurus model that nobody ever seems to have a complaint about.
My experience is much the same as you other gentlemen. I've also found it to be a very good gun for the money.
It was my very first...
Sounds like a hard-chromed 19-3.
That finish tends to look virtually identical to stainless steel.
Pictures would be a big help in determining precisely what you've got.
I love 9mm 1911s! They are absolutely a joy to shoot with little felt recoil.
I've had a Rock Island 1911-FS Tactical in 9mm for years and it is utterly reliable. I mean shockingly so.
A Ruger Lightweight Commander in 9mm has become my carry gun and it too has been totally reliable with every...
