    Light 9mm Load For Revolver

Look at what the ISR and OSR class Steel Challenge shooters are using, I think you will find 850 fps is about average. I'm waiting for a nice day with 70 degree ambient and will chrono mine I expect them to be around 900 fps. I have about as much recoil as a rimfire pistol. The minimum pf for...

    Done reloading? (cleaning and maintenance)

What you are saying about range brass is absolutely true. I will save up range brass in a pile until I get about 10K pcs. Then I get rid of the steel and alum cases and anything that looks beat up. Then tumble in lots. As I finish tumbling I sort by caliber. 9mm gets sorted into 4 piles...

    Reloader Back?

I hope your back is feeling better soon. Every time I look at pictures of a new handloaders bench on a forum such as this one and see a press direct mounted at deck height with the intention to sit while working but knowing that the bench is too low, my back starts to go into sympathetic spasm...

    Done reloading? (cleaning and maintenance)

I have roughly 70,000 pcs of 9mm range brass that I have picked up over the years at no cost to me. So when I think about casting bullets the only considerations for me are: 1. a plentiful source of free or low cost lead 2. the cost of decent casting tackle 3. the time needed to do the...

    Done reloading? (cleaning and maintenance)

On the other hand, if you are gainfully employed, working full time and handload 10,000 bullets/year and actually shoot all of those loaded rounds during the year, plus you have some kind of life not associated with shooting, then you are not in all probability casting your own bullets.

    Done reloading? (cleaning and maintenance)

Very concerning to think that a handloader is out of brass.

    9mm shell holder dimensions

I'm glad you were able to find one. One thing I never do is suggest that reloaders buy anything made by Lee. There is one exception though and when things return to normal consider getting their sets of shell holders. I mainly load on a progressive but have 3 single stage presses and put one of...

Dillon Precision - not what it used to be

I can never understand why people sell reloading presses or associated bric-a-brac. I paid for a thousand dollars worth of coated bullets from a well known bullet maker, have been waiting 18 weeks no bullets. I have been a loyal customer for years. The dies for a SDB being exclusive to that...

Getting started again after many years

tom, my advice is first define what exactly you want to accomplish with your handloads. Pick one caliber to get back into it, probably the caliber you shoot the most and have brass for. Pick up an up to date load manual. My suggestion is the Hornady or Lyman. Primers if your starting with 45...

What Altamont Grip color would you recommend for a new 686 stainless ?

Any color is acceptable as long as they don't clash with your suspenders.

    Mine flat out works....period!

I bought my 15-22 about 3 years ago but only shot it 2 or 3 times. Then about 2 months ago I decided to start using it for Rimfire Challenge. The first 2 or 3 hundred rounds went well then I started getting stoves and double feeds. I decided to try to fix it myself and then proceeded to spend...

Small Rifle Primers in Pistol Cartridges

If you go to the store and buy a S&W revolver even one that is a Performance Center model you can probably use any primer that will fit in the brass successfully. However, imagine that you are one of a relatively small number of revolver shooters that compete on a regular basis, shoot DA only...
