Just a follow up. Just got back from the range and ran thru a box of Federal Bulk HP's. I'm very happy to say I only had 2 FTE's. After each FTE I finished the mag and then performed a basic cleaning then right back to it. I also ran thru a half box of 500 count Winchester Dynapoint Target...

Do not use Winchester 555 Hollowpoint. The length is just slightly too long and the HP is very blunt edged. It will cause FTL and stovepipe in the the M&P 15-22. Perhaps the round point version will work since it's a smooth and fairly clean round.
