S&W 500 penetration and tumbling questions

I really don't believe the animal in question really cared too much about what type of bullet that he got hit with, especially out of a large bore handgun such as a S&W 500 using any factory load. Shot placement is always key, shoot him in the head or shoot him in the tail. YMMV.

When will we see a no lock 29, 629?

I completely agree with you that the 'hole' was a bad mistake. But I sincerely believe that its reliable as the rest of the firearm.

Detail spray gun recomendations for Duracoat?

Paasche is the gold value of air brushes. They also make small sand blasters, great for refinishing small SS parts.

New 686-7 Mountain Gun Trigger Coating Peeling!

The hammer on my newly purchased Govenor (2022) had a horrible finish on it (it was case hardened; but more chrome than case). S&W would not even SELL me a new one and refused to do anything about it! Even after I sent them photos of the bad finish. Every time I called them, they said they were...

Loctite and guns - do they mix? This subject keeps coming up - hence another thread for those who wonder.

I believe were talking only threaded assemblies especially fine pitch ones not mating, slip, or interference part assemblies.

Loctite and guns - do they mix? This subject keeps coming up - hence another thread for those who wonder.

Red Loctite is the Debel. It should only be used on an assembly that will never, and I mean NEVER need to be disassembled. i.e.: spacecraft, you're never going to get out there to fix it, it's long gone. Hello Voyager. Had a Nova shotgun that the magazine tube was put on with red Loctite...

Are these raised grooves inside barrel compensator normal?

I believe it's to hold the shroud nut on. Like Dan Wesson does. Special tool is used for installing and removal of this nut. Then the barrel tool is then used to engage the full length of the rifling to remove and install the barrel. This tool is maybe all in one, nut and barrel, not...

Are these raised grooves inside barrel compensator normal?

I believe that those grooves are for the S&W barrel removal tool.
