I also own both the 9 and 40. It's the most comfortable 40 I've ever shot. It's amazing how well it handles the recoil. I'd concur with the person who said 165 gr loads are about the same as 124 +P in 9mm. I'd also say it's harder to rack the slide on my 9mm and I've had that one longer.

I also have both and like both. The recoil with the 40 is slightly greater than the 9. As a 40 cal goes, I think the shield handles the recoil among the best. The weight of the ammo is a hair less with the 9 and you get an extra round. Shoot both and get what you you shoot best.

I have trouble seating the 7 rd mag when full with a round in the chamber on my 9mm shield. It always seats but only when inserted with authority. Its easier on my 40 shield.

I'm in! I could absolutely put that to good use!

I built an old faithful from a kit and it was under $50. It's nice, but due to the spacers between the kydex and leather, it can pinch closed making holstering slightly more difficult. I have a crossbreed for larger pistol (which I barely carry since getting a shield) and it doesn't suffer...

Ordered mine from D&L on the 9th. Got a call on the 11th saying the FFL didn't come through and they could only hold it so long (already charged my card) due to space. Had my LGS resend the FFL same day. They shipped on the 18th (so much for lack of space...) and it arrived either the 20th...
