    new shield- new love

Glad you finally "drank the Shield kool-aid." I love mine and am sure you will like yours. Walk, not run, to get a EUPULA mag loader. Essential tool. The spring does lighten up over time though

    Sights are off

Well, my friend was frustrated by trying to get an accurate measurement of the off-center rear sight ... because of the wavy pattern on the side of the slide. He did say the off-centered-ness was visible to him. He also commented that the front sight was also a bit off center. Does Smith...

    Sights are off

I just bought a new Shield and shot it for the first time yesterday. Not able to group near bullet's eye by hand or by rest, using the sights at 5 and 7 yards. Nor could my friend. Both of us are experienced with shooting handguns. We both can get good groupings ... but not near the...

How much did you pay for your M&P Shield?

Illinois $374.99 Out the door $402. Happy with the price and the gun.

Ballpark Sale and/or trade in for 70s era 38 and 37

Agree. And will do in time for both my son and son-in-law. More than 10 years ago, I gave each several S&W Highway Patrol 357 revolvers with different length barrels that my dad and I bought in late 60s and early 70s ... also give each 30-06 rifles, several shotguns and even gave my son my...

Ballpark Sale and/or trade in for 70s era 38 and 37

Thanks for all the advice guys! I appreciate it. I talked to my grown son over the weekend, who told me I was &$(#%_! crazy for even thinking about trading in the weapons or selling them! He said that after I'm gone, he can't wait to pry my cold, dead hands off both the Model 37 and Model...

Ballpark Sale and/or trade in for 70s era 38 and 37

Keep them both Thanks Kaaskop49. Coming from a retired LEO, that carries a lot of weight. Back in the late 60s, early 70s, I was a police reporter ... which was way before Watergate, and actually had an office at the local PD, with complete access. Great relationships. Different times for...

Ballpark Sale and/or trade in for 70s era 38 and 37

Thanks Muss. I don't have a concealed carry yet ... but I can see where the hidden hammer on the Model 38 would make it a great "snag free" pocket gun. Y'all are great!

Ballpark Sale and/or trade in for 70s era 38 and 37

Thanks for the advice, Alan. I'll look what requirements an Illinois gun owner needs to meet to sell a gun online. Imagine I would have to ship the gun via UPS to buyer's FFL. I hear you about both weapons being good for concealed carry. Something to think about before I decide to sell...

Thanks Muss. Appreciate your second thoughts! Not finding many gun shows near me. I'll let you know what my LGS has to say!

Ballpark Sale and/or trade in for 70s era 38 and 37

This is the last to upload Sorry for so many posts. But I think you should be able to see both size of both guns. I thought the original box, S&W side label, original manual, warranty papers, sales slip might bump up the price. Also good to know that the diamond grips might be factory issue...

Maybe pix are two big Hmm. Think I have to resize to a smaller size. All are 1400 to 1800 KB which aren't really large. It might take awhile, unless a moderator can resize the original uploads.

Ok, I'm at a loss why only 1 of five came thru. All were jpg's, same size, uploaded all five in first message. I'll try one and a time

Ballpark Sale and/or trade in for 70s era 38 and 37

Ok, as I've read 1,000s of times online before ... I'm a long time lurker, first time poster to the forum. The more I read, the more I'm thinking I need to get a concealed carry permit and weapon. To do that, I'm thinking about selling and/or trading one of my two beloved, but rarely fired...
