Almost forgot to close the loop on my original post. My 432PD had nothing wrong beyond a loose barrel, which was promptly fixed and returned in about 2 weeks. Thanks S&W!
I had my S&W 432PD out to the range recently. The 432PD looks like a 442, except it's six-shooter chambered in .32 H&R mag. I purchased the gun new about 4 years ago. The total round count would be no higher than 500.

I've got one of the ported stainless 632 revolvers in .327, and a 432PD in .32 H&R. Both are great little revolvers, I really appreciate the light weight, low recoil and a 6th shot.
Great guns!

Someone on this forum was kind enough to send me to this site for proofmark info:

The site also has serial number data for a number of arms manufacturers.
Not certain if my grips are as good as those. I think my medallions are better, but mine have a small chip and a couple of dents.
The market can make the final decision. I listed them on eBay this morning.
s&wchad,
Thank you for the insights on my 1917. I hadn't noticed the five-point star because of its' close proximity to the base of the lanyard.
I'll take your advice and track the auction of those similar grips on eBay. I'm amazed to see that they're over $400 now.
