Was able to get the transfer started anyway. I just called it a model 17 k-22 and they excepted it. Thanks for all the help and info guys. Just have to wait on the Manitoba CFO (chief firearms officer) to approve the transfer. Hope to pick it up this weekend and get out shooting next week...

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pictures, I was in a rush the day I took them. I will see what they say when I call this morning, going by the Smith and Wesson book, k-22 seemed to be what it was, but not what they have. I will possibly be able to get back this weekend to take better pictures...

I am trying to get this firearm transferred into my name. If you are not familiar with the laws here in Canada, you have to call the Canadian Firearms Program and transfer it from one owner to another, need make model serial number ect. Firearm is coming from my deceased father and I can not...

So what do you guys think this is. Just continuing on this thread but probably not the right one to be in. Apparently it is not a K22 ( this serial # on the 22 k1117XX), and I cant find a model number on it. Was able to identify the other pistol as a 66-2 once I opened the cylinder.

Good day folks. It seems I will be inheriting a few S&W pistols of my late fathers. Thought this would be a great place to do a little research. Put my order in on Amazon for the Standard catalogue of Smith & Wesson for some reading as well. If some one could point me in the right direction...
