The second part is a fact. The first part, I hope you are joking. Ref the 125gr Gold Dot; It was not designed to expand well from a snub. That being said, that bullet does not look like the .38 special 125gr Gold Dot, it looks like the bullet they make for the .357Sig

Shorter barrels often mean, with JHP ammo, less expansion, which means MORE penetration, not less. Many of the rounds being suggested, such as the Federal BPLE, have a proven history of failing to expand when going through a heavy clothing barrier.

I can't speak to the use in ARs, but out of my Savage bolt gun the plain vanilla 150gr Federal SPs group into the 1 1/4" range and they work very well on the last seven deer I have shot with that gun/ammo combo.

I'll add that the Critical Duty ammo has proven so far to be low expansion and rather high penetration.

I've used a Blade Tech IWB holster for several years. It is well made and has stood up to quite a bit of carry and training.
