Thank you for the information on the build date and especially the article about the recall.
I did not know the exact details or reason for the recall. Good information to have.
I also picked my 586 up for $550 about 5 years ago from a local gun shop and mine had Pachmayr grips when...
I bought this 66-1 round butt from my uncle two years ago that came from an estate of a friend he knew. Pretty sure it had never been fired since the factory. Unfortunately I only received the revolver itself, no box or tools.
I have since shot it a bit and really enjoy it. Even did the local...
I agree with you, it is in decent shape, I have already tried to straighten it once, and I will attempt to get the last of the bend out of it.
It does make the cylinder hang up when I try to swing it out of the frame in a couple spots.

R-P cases, Fed 150 Primer, Wheel weights for my lead and I water drop, Lyman Super Moly lube, size my slugs at .431" and 1.720" COL with a...

I also see plenty of previous...

While I have managed to straighten it out some, it still is not right. I did find the new manufacture one offered by Jack First, however I would...
Thank you.
And thanks for letting me know that the picture worked. Sometimes you can see them on your end, but other members can't. Every forum seems to be a little different on attaching pictures.
Saying hello to the forum. I have been lurking here for a number of years, used to have an account but couldn't remember my original user name so decided to sign up again. Have been a big fan of Smith & Wesson revolvers for as long as I can recall and have had several for many, many years.
