What was your first Smith and Wesson??

My first Smith & Wesson was actually a pair. In November 2001 I bought a set of new in box, old stock, consecutive serial numbered 629-1, the 8 3/8" in my avatar and it's companion with a 6" barrel. I had been looking at this pair for a couple of years every time I went to the gun shows, I...

THE BEST 22LR RIFLE I HAVE EVER SHOT IN MY LIFE!

Same here, Absolutely love my 37! I shoot it regularly in the local 50 yard benchrest match. Just a beautiful, old school work of art.

Oh my, that is pretty! And the box is very nice too. I need a couple of those myself.

    29-2 Coke stocks

Thank you. I was thinking Goncalo, but they are quite a bit darker than the set on my Pre 29 or any of my other sets of Goncalo stocks. I'm sure the age of them has darkened them plenty over the years. And they have been on the gun for a very, very long time, I was a little surprised at how...

    29-2 Coke stocks

One other thing about these stocks, I can't tell for sure if these are Goncalo Alves or Walnut? Tell me what you guys think?

    29-2 Coke stocks

Recently acquired this 29-2 serial S 270196 which I believe should be from the 1966-67 time frame for production. My question is, would a 29-2 from this year have the small football cutout stocks? I thought the small cut was more associated with the early pre 29 guns. My pre 29 has the large...

    9mm hardcast?

I load my own 150 cast slugs with an Arsenal mold for my MP-5 clone. These are my subsonic loads for when I run suppressed. I am loading at 28gr HI Skor 700X and they run about 900 FPS. I also use Tightgroup. I load a cast lead 130 gr slug with an Arsenal mold for all my 9mm guns, I use True...

    9 row knurled SAT

Yep, I won't worry about it either. Just glad I didn't get something that was completely wrong for this particular revolver. Now, if I could just find an original case in good shape that won't cost an arm and a leg I'd be really happy.

    9 row knurled SAT

Excellent, thank you for the reply. Mine should be 1957 build date, S170714 serial. Now I don't feel so stupid, I can't seem to read or count anymore! I thought I had ordered a 8 row and it shows up today as an 9 row. Go back to original auction and sure enough, states right in it that it's a...

    9 row knurled SAT

I believe from my research here that the Pre 29 .44 Magnums would have come with the 8 row knurled aluminum handle 8 row SAT. My question is, would it have been possible that they could have come with the 9 row knurled aluminum SAT?

First Consecutive Pair of 44 Magnums

Unbelievably beautiful pair of revolvers. Not going to lie, I'm a bit jealous, but I could never afford something like that and I would just have to shoot at least one of them! And that would probably be a travesty.
