    VZ grips anyone?

They look great. Ordered a couple of sets over the years. Never received one that would fit.

    NYPD Model 64-1: 4-inch SB, 4-inch RB, 3-inch RB and 2-inch RB

Not exactly. The G17 and the G37 are essentially identical in size. The G37 is actually a fraction wider, if I recall correctly. By 2006, certain members of the SP in NY had been wanting to switch to .45 for some time. The 2006 line of duty death of Trooper Andrew Sperr provided that...

    NYPD Model 64-1: 4-inch SB, 4-inch RB, 3-inch RB and 2-inch RB

Doesn't seem like they'd have to evaluate the G17, they already issued it for almost 20 years, before switching to the G37, and then the G21. The latter two combined didn't serve as long (or it's very close) as the original G17 did.

Do you have a link for that NYSP switch back to the G17? Thanks!

    Concealed Carry and Open Carry

I'm not an open carry guy myself, however... A wise man changed my mind on the subject of the laws. He pointed out that, there are many places where a lawful concealed carrier can run afoul of the law, and be arrested, should his concealed firearm become inadvertently visible. Some states...

I'd Sure Like To Have THAT S&W Back

Model 640 no dash, when was it introduced?

The one I bought new in '94 was a CAD. The one I have now is a BSF. Don't recall if I ever looked into when it was made. Probably did and just have forgotten.

Model 640 no dash, when was it introduced?

When I bought mine new in '94, the Firearms Unit guy laughed at me for how much I'd paid. Old timers were retiring and selling old 2" guns for $25-$50. That stainless Centennial with boot grips was modern to me, but it was EXPENSIVE. Kind of like the M&P 340 I bought almost thirty years later. :D

    EDC Tips

Or at least, guns with the same general manual of arms; that is, a Glock and a revolver, or "Glocks" and "revolvers", just for example. I would not (and do not) bounce back and forth between a single action 1911 style, and a no-external safety striker pistol, or a traditional double action and...

What would have caused that ?

Short stroking the trigger sounds possible. But, I wouldn't suggest that to you without knowing how familiar you are with J frames. If you've been shooting them for years, then I'd send it back, because it's probably not you. If you're coming in from another platform's trigger-return, maybe...

    The B-52 rebuild plans

Not their mission any longer. The B-2 does that now and the B-21 will in the future. Against peer or near-peer adversaries B-52s are stand-off cruise missile launchers, and theoretically virtually inexhaustible arsenal ships for F-22s and F-35s.

    .38 FBI Load :-p

Last time I LEOSA qualified, I used Federal 38G, in my S&W M640 No Dash. I had it in my safe. Couldn't get anything else. Halfway through the course of fire, the rounds leaded the barrel so badly, that it changed the point of aim/point of impact. I started shooting at the clock center and...
