    yes, curved along the bottom. i'm very happy with them, they will have a forever home on this revolver.

    thank you to everyone for all the information and comments. i couldnt wait any longer, had to go pick this beauty up. really excited. lock up is tight, feels like a new gun. i'll be sending off for a letter soon.

    just a quick update, "the crack" is not a crack. barrel sn matches the butt number. I was unable to take the grips off and look underneat, I do have a few more pictures I wiil post up when I get home. I tried to get pics of under ejector star, but they didn't really come out. thank you so much...

    i'll be putting it on layaway Monday. I asked if the stocks were ivory, he said no, but they are a great imitation if fake. I will take the grip off Monday and get some pictures. $599 +tax for the layaway. could get it for $599 cash. I really like the gun. this is only the second 1917 I've seen...

    i found this at a local gunshop. these don't turn up very often around here. any idea if that's original nickel? the grips? seems to lock up tight and should be a good shooter. 5 digit serial number followed by star on butt? any thoughts, comments, observations appreciated.

    :) Sights will be removed prior to refinish. Entire pistol will be detail stripped and bead blasted prior to refinish. I'm not very concerned about resale value on this one. GCS does very good work, and in the end i will still be under $550. I should be able to get that out of it if i decide to...

    well, it cleaned up pretty well, more pitting than i was hoping for. i dropped the pistol off yesterday at my semi-local cerakote applicator GCS LLC. the plan is to use Lauer's Durafil to fill the pits, then apply a satin black coating to the pistol. i will post pics when that is finished. was...
