If I were after a 386 (the 6 shot SS that comes with 3" bbl, not the PD) with a 4" barrel and a full length extractor, would it be possible to fit a 520 barrel with a new ejector rod? Is the ejector star integral with the ejector rod? Has anyone tried this? The end goal would be an L-frame...

+1. I use that revolver for IDPA and it does the trick.

I have two sets of Herrett Detectives and a set of Ropers. The Ropers are too bulky, but the detectives are the cat's meow. I've actually got an order in for another set of those. They are pricey and there is a wait, but they have been worth it, for me.
