Thanks. I've heard that about TrailBoss. (fill er up).
Just wondered what the 'best' manual I for my needs, rather than spending hundreds on several. (I've already got a few) I'm concentrating on S&W 500 right now, but will soon be doing 30-06 and .357.
The thing about manuals is that...
Smith & Wesson 500 Magnum 6.5"
I have 400gr cast bullets and IMR-4227 (and TrailBoss)
I have thoroughly read my 'ABCs of Reloading', 'Lyman Pistol and Revolver', and the 'Nosler' Manual that came with my RCBS 101 kit.
Wondering what manual would be the next best one to buy. I've heard that...
Hi,
I'm new to reloading and want to know if anyone has a recipe for a 400gr NON-gas-checked lead bullet with 4227? I've got data for my TrailBoss powder, but I'm looking to use my IMR-4227.
If you could tell me which manual I can find this info I'd appreciate it.
I saw data in a friends...
Thanks very much for the help with this. I will look into some othe grips.
I like the feel of the Hogues, but they are too thin. Maybe some Rodewood is in my future.
Anybody manage to fit the Model 500 grips to a Square butt 686-3? I believe these X grips are made more for a round butt, but if I can Dremel/cut them to fit then I'll probably buy a set.
Has anybody tried this?
Cheers, -K
I have a square butt 686-3 that I purchased a set of Hogues for.
I find the Hogues too slim and they don't fill my hand up.
Can you recommend a nice looking (maybe Rosewood) grip that would fit better with a larger hand?
Also, I like the finger grooves, but I'm a lefty. Not sure if most...
If anyone wants to see...here are the originals. They show no wear at all.
Also, as Kernel Crittenden says, the gun appears to be circa March '92. It's written on the grip!
Excuse me, where are my manners?
Spent a few short hours with the 'Mothers' polish and now she gleams! It came to me as a fairly shiny revolver. Now it's a very shiny revolver!
(photos, of course, don't do justice). I will put a few more hours into it.
Snapped it up for $700...
Thanks, in advance!
Just received a MINT .357. Original wood grips have never even been used! (I'll be fitting Hogues) Beautiful piece. Solid chunk of steel! Anyway,
