I have not sent any guns to them in decades, but the gun store where I teach has had to return many new customers auto pistols for similar issues - new out of the box. The staff says they get repaired guns back and not fixed

Me too, shoot a lot of 22 auto and revolver. Going back to 38 spec now, limit myself to 50 rds of 45 unless I want sore hands. Lots of 9mm as that’s what we shoot in student classes after they learn 22 revolver and 22 auto. 40SW also good for my range time.
