    The Uberti Schofield

I've been Cowboy Shooting two Uberti 5.5" Schofields for the last 14 years, and have never had a lick of trouble with them. I've got 5 different pairs of cowboy guns, so they only get shot every fifth match, but that still amounts to a LOT of shooting over the years. I've personally never...

    Bowie Knives

Larry, there has been SO much written about the "original" Bowie knife, that it's very hard to determine if anything is a "genuine" replication. Rezin Bowie supposedly described it at essentially a large butcher knife, without a handguard. But again, no one really knows for sure. Their...

People who owned Model 19 snub noses, what do/did you think of them?

My 19-5 was purchased new in 1986. I carried it in a Safariland Model 19 shoulder rig, as a back up to my department issued Model 686 when working mids, and as off-duty carry for a while as well. Once I started working when the sun was out, BUG duty went to a Model 38, but I never even once...

Carried a full size 1911 for the first time in a long time today. WOW!

I carry everywhere outside my home, every day, and have, for going on over 35 years now. 99.99% of the time, it's been a full-size 1911. No other gun I have ever held/fired, in my life, fits my hand better. A Browning HP comes close, but still not quite as good a fit. I carried a variety...

    New clothes for the 686+

I know I'm not the only fan in here of the Thai maker who sells as "jaruwan.p" on ebay. Here's a set I just received from him for my 686+. Like all the grips I've purchased from him, fit, finish, and workmanship are first-rate.

**SOLD** Culina grips for round-butt K frame

I was so taken with the appearance of these, that I tried to convince myself they'd work for me. Sadly, full-size combat grips just don't fit my hand well. So, best to pass them along to someone who can actually make use of them They've been on and off the Model 19, that's it. No blemishes...
