I have no experience with these two custom 39's but did have a stock 39 in the late 70's and it was junk wold not cycle out of the box using FMJ ammo had to ship it back to smith for repairs and it never shot to point of aim.

is it just me or does S&W need to bring back an all stainless steel .22LR or .22 Magnum revolver with a 2 ,21/2 or 3 inch barrel that's affordable not some ultra-lite four to six hundred dollar piece but more in the two to three hundred range.
