That was a buy!especially if it came with the target grips.I bought a 1953 in about the same condition, all matching nos.,for 350.I cant remember if shipping was included.This was a few years back.

Roger;
I have never seen such a covey of humpback hammers!Tell me about the brochure for the hammer.Is it an S&W add or something shipped with a gun having such a hammer?

I have a 6"in similar condition.Shot fifty rounds;inherent accuracy is great,but that tiny
sight groove wore me out.It now has a Wonder Sight which I highly recommend.I am now trying to decide if I want to have a patridge type front sight made up.You will enjoy your new gun.

I like it!That is what I need.I built three muzzleloaders so I can cut dovetails,but I always have done it by using handtools.So I would really have to get my karma right to try it on these old revolvers.

Hello,
Mike has it right.To do it, take a beer bottle cap(3 of them)1 with linseed oil,1 with mineral spirits,and 1 with spar varnish.Go over the wood with alcohol- acetone is better - dip 0000 steel wool in the three bottle caps and rub.Continue until it looks right.
