    Woods Carry 357 Search

I had a TRR8 for a bit. It was on the big side for any kind of carry IMHO. Of course this is from a guy that caries an 11 oz, 360 PD in his pocket. FWIW, I can't imagine a situation where 8 rounds would be "needed" in a woods gun. I'd vote a K or L frame would be the sweet spot. Your wants...

Advice on purchase of a 617 dash-?

Congrats. You'll be happy with your purchase, I'm sure. I've owned at least all of them all at one point during my SW revolver collecting days. Every dash number. Every barrel length. I never had a bad one among all of them. That said, I do feel that the later production 4", 10 shot 617's are...

    Grip frame plug for Response?

Ok, but the Response uses a M&P pistol grip sized/style grip vs AR style. Are you saying that an AR sized plug will fit?

    Grip frame plug for Response?

Did some searching here and on the net but have so far come up empty. Does anyone of a grip frame /mag well plug that will fit the Response. For some reason the gapping hole in the bottom of the grip just bothers me.

    FPC vs Response

Well, it ate at me all morning so I went looking to see if I could find a FPC at any shop that could be handled. It took 3 shops ( all in chaos) but I managed to find a single FPC ( which had just arrived on the USP truck). Crazy times but I now own both the Response and the FPC. Chances are...

    FPC vs Response

I'll apologize if this has been asked before but I've searched and can't really find what I'm looking for so.... My state just passed a sweeping "assault weapon ban" that will quickly ban the sales of any/all semi auto centerfire rifles after next week. I already have "what I want" for AR's/...

j frame pinky finger grip but slim

They aren't cheap but I really like the Crimson Trace LG-305's that I have on several of my J frames. They are a little longer than a boot grip but slender at the butt. The sides are slick and the rear section has a recoil absorbing soft bubble in the web of my hand. Honestly, I often carry...

    New 43C back to SW

Well, my 43c showed up (without notice) at my door last Friday. Down time at the mothership was just about 8 weeks. The accompanying work order said that they replaced the latch, adjusted the barrel and cut forcing cone. First inspection showed that the cylinder issue has indeed gone away. ...

I've had my new 617-6 for a few months now

While I can usually get my revolvers to digest anything, I've learned that there is no substitute for ammo a particular gun likes. Honestly, Aguila, Winchester and/or Remington is always a **** shoot in any of my 22 handguns. Sounds like your 617 likes CCI ( as do mine) so I would lay in a case...

    New 43C back to SW

I hear you, I wouldn't/couldn't sell or trade any gun in the condition i got this one. It just wouldn't be right. Still, if it comes back and runs reliably (even if not elegantly) I think it would be fair to let it go at a discount price. Most folks are looking for minute of cantaloupe accuracy...

    New 43C back to SW

    Wow, 3 times???? :-). You've got more patience than me. I'll give it the once and if it's at all serviceable, I'll flip it at a loss. I'd rather take the financial hit than live with something I dislike/have no love for. A lesson I learned in my "Taurus days" long ago ;}

    New 43C back to SW

Well, It's been just about 8 weeks and all I've heard is that they had it. At this point, I have to believe that either this gun is REALLY hosed beyond repair or SW service has taken a nose dive. Either way, I think I'm done buying anything new from them until they pull up on the stick...

I've had my new 617-6 for a few months now

Not to stir the pot, but this is one case where this long time SW fan feels that Ruger nailed it. Quality on this GP100-22 is as good as any of my 617's but the features and action are better. Fortunately there is room in the safe for both flavors.

I've had my new 617-6 for a few months now

617's provide a step back from the world of bottom feeders , expensive ammo and crawling around for spent brass. To me it's one of one of those guns where the more you shoot it, the more you love it. I rarely go to the range without one. (Especially if bringing newbies.) It's just cheap, pure...
