Revolver: DA = light primer strikes, SA = all is well

Working on a 38sp snubbie that's having some issues with light primer strikes in DA, but perfectly strong strikes in SA (almost seem too strong actually). I would assume the hammer spring is too weak, but the trigger pull feels plenty heavy enough. Any ideas? Could the angle of the hammer nose...

    1958 Pre-model 10 finish

Flitz worked great. The pics above a pre-polish, but now this thing gleams like a chrome bumper on a Kenworth. Checked under the panel and it's got an "N" stamp, which I understand means it's a factory original nickel finish. The grip panels have the serial number stamped as well. Looks like I...

    1958 Pre-model 10 finish

Hello Folks, Searched around and didn't find much about suggestions for polishing nickel (might have cast too narrow a net). I've acquired a '58 Pre-model 10 M&P .38 in nickel. I'd like to do a conservative bit of polishing. Anything in particular you folks like to use? I know to avoid ammonia...

Found another mark today. The curve behind the hammer spur has a US Patent Office stamp. Not sure it matters, but thought I'd let you all know. Thanks.

They're the same size to my eye, but the underside of the barrel is not finished that smoothly, and has some bluing missing, so I think that pictures make them look different.

It's visible. The glare, and numbers so small, is making it hard to capture. I also just found the same serial number on the hammer side of the cylinder: 530286. It's very clear there, more so that anywhere else, but again, the glare makes it tough. It is the same serial number throughout. A...

There are no marking on the inner surface of the grip panels. I added some more pictures of the panels, and also the grip frame. There is an X and another mark of some kind on the left side of the grip frame, near the grip panel pin. On the right side there's what looks like a B, K, and a U...

Thanks again folks. Three more pictures added. A picture of the barrel serial number is really hard to get right. I tried, and also took a better picture of the front strap serial number. Thanks again. 1937_Bekeart pictures by whgraham - Photobucket

The barrel is 4". Here's the photo album link: 1937_Bekeart pictures by whgraham - Photobucket I'm going to sell it. Based on the information above, and the condition as described and evidenced in the images, what would you folks say would be a good deal for someone? I don't really want to...

Wow. Thanks for all of this information. I would be happy with a fair bit below the "I don't know what I've got" range. I've certainly lost money on some projects along the way, so it would be nice to make up for some of that with passing along this gun, but I wouldn't want to be too greedy with...
