Ok I've decided on picking up a couple of model 10's for my collection. I've already decided on a 10-5 2" as one of them and am now looking at 4" barreled Model 10's
Here is my dilemma I have found two realy nice ones I cant decide on. What are the pro's and cons of each of these to you guys...
Thank you it looks like I'll be getting in touch with kurac for some custom grips.
The problew with common conversion grips like hogues is that they are either to slim or to short, front to back, to replicate the feel of the old style grips. Those old grips just feel perfect so it looks like...
Well this is half to brag and half to ask for help. The other day I picked up a 629-3 in like new condition. I have always wanted a 44 magnum revolver and I finally took the plunge.
It came with Hogue rubber mono-grip stocks which are way to small for my hands and prevented me from shooting...
I could be wrong but, the way I see it, they are actually only spending money to put it on there. They are simply adding machining processes and adding parts. It would actually be cheaper for them not to have it and it's not like they have to do any reverse research and development to make the...
Mod's if this is inapropriate for some reason please feel free to remove the thread. But I just thought it might be time that S&W heard from the people who want to buy their products.
I spent a little time writing a letter to S&W concerning their lock and my objections to it. Whether your...
Stevi, Sounds like we have similar hands, I have been able to palm a basket ball since like 8th grade
So did you get the Large Nills or the Extra Large Nills?
Im just trying to get an idea of how these things are sized. My dad has an old 19 with the target grips and they work allright. But...
Oh sweet. Nill has so many options! The only thing I see is that they offer those type grips in large and extra large. Given that I like the size of the standard x-frame grips, do you think I would fit their large or extra large size better on my l-frame?
I currently have a 686 that has the Hogue rubber finger groove grips on it.
I have really big hands though and the grips are to short in circumference to keep my thumb out of the cylinder latch and I have to really cramp my trigger finger up to get the middle of the first pad on the trigger...

I was shooting at Boars at 100 and Turkeys at 150. I got more hits on the boars at 100 when using DA and could only hit the turkeys at 150 when I shot DA.
My thought is that since I am staging the DA (1) I am gripping the revolver more firmly as I draw the trigger back, (2) my finger placement...
Which do you shoot more accurately or consistently with your S&W, DA or SA.
When I went to the silhouette range yesterday I noticed I got more hits at longer range when I staged the trigger using Double Action. Anybody know why?

Awesome, thanks for the leads on the 22 twin. I am going to have to get one of those very soon.
In response to jchampagne's question. No my 686 doesn't have the lock. I was lucky enough to find one NIB that had been languishing on a dealer's shelf since before the lock went into production. He...
BTW I'm thinking I'm going to have to find a 22cal twin for this gun to use as a good training tool. I'm feeling a 44 magnum twin in the future also. But I need to hone my skill at this power level before I should move up any.
obviously I'm quite smitten by this primitive ol'e wheel gun.
