    M&P 45 vs Springfield XD45

I have both but the fact that I can change the grip on the Smith makes it feel better in my hand. The XD45 has a much better trigger out of the box though, IMHO. Mike

    M64-7 4 inch barrel

I talked to S&W parts department and ordered a hammer for my gun. It will be a MIM part which is different from the original hammer. Parts guy said it's case hardened and would be "absolutely no problem". I have no experience with MIM parts myself but I see a big controversy on some of the...

    M64-7 4 inch barrel

Thanks guys for the information. The hammer does look like it was just ground off, not a factory job. There are no markings on the gun, even under the grips that would identify it as some type of LE, security or what ever gun. The double action pull is smooth and the SA is crisp. It shoots great...

    M64-7 4 inch barrel

Just received after purchasing on line from a dealer I've done business with before. The gun arrived exactly as advertised and maybe in a little better condition than I expected. The dealer took it in trade and when it got to him, someone had bobbed the hammer. Doesn't appear to be a former LE...

    S&W 686-6 2.5" bbl

I have a chance to pick up this revolver for $565.00. The serial number is CFD 64XX. Is this a good price and are the newer S&W's still as good as the pre safety lock Smith's? Thanks, Mike

    My Model 15-3

I like the S&W 15-3 also and the T-Grip to make it fit my hand a little better. My T-Grip though is made by Pachmayr. This was my dad's house gun and when he passed away in 1976 it became mine. It's been locked in the safe pretty much since then but seeing all these other 15-3's I decided to...

Manual for lead bullet loads only?

As mentioned, both Lyman and RCBS have manuals that pertain only to cast bullets. You say that you will not be casting your bullets but will be buying them. Many of the reloading manuals have load information concerning cast bullets in different weights. Speer is one manual that you will find...

    New from California

I'm a long time shooter and own several S&W's including a K-38 and K-22 which I started out shooting Bulls Eye competition. I've always appreciated the fine craftsmanship of the S&W revolvers and hope to acquire more. Looking forward to learn from this Forum. Mike

    S&W Model 15 .38 as USAF Commemorative

The M15 was one of the premier S&W guns of the day. I have a 4 inch model that I would never part with. One as a tribute to the Air Force would be much sought after I believe. Mike
