What was your first Smith and Wesson??

Wow! This one took some thinking. Mine probably was a 4 inch bbl blued steel model 19. I remember I traded a like new Winchester 9422 lever action rifle even up for it, which at the time was probably a fair trade, but I often remember regretting the trade. I really loved that little...

Bear Hug Grips on the new Mountain Guns

Nice handguns, and I really like those black and gray grips made of laminated G10 material. They look nice, have good grip, and are very resistant to chemicals and oils etc.

    Model 27 - 5" or 6"

My 5 incher is a Ruger GP100 and I didn't pay extra for it. It's my favorite longer barreled revolver.

I put a one piece MSH and magwell from Smith & Alexander on my Kimber Stainless Target II.

Really? It doesn't show very well in the picture.

    S&W Pro Series 1911

I went back and looked, the rear sight is exactly like the one on my Kimber, only with mine sighted in the rear sight isn't adjusted nearly as high as the one you show so it isn't as noticeable.

    S&W Pro Series 1911

I will expound on what I like about the grips. First, I like the stippling or however you choose to describe the surface, and secondly I like that they are flat cut bottom and cover the MSH pin and I think they would accept a magwell and look quite nice. Those adjustable rear sights are very...

    Grips 617 Revolver - USA

I'm pretty sure those would be original. They are also quite valuable right now.

Newer smiths - Better In Some Ways?

I can't dispute much what the OP has said. It all depends on the shooter and how they intend to enjoy their revolvers. In my case I'm an older guy who spends much more time looking at and handling my revolvers rather than actually shooting them, so for me the older revolvers have more looking...

Anyone Else Stipple Their Third Gen Grips?

Our son had a Boxer, Ben, which is supposed to be about a 10 year dog. That's just about exactly how long he made it. It was super hard on both my son and myself, as I spent a lot of time walking ol Ben.

    S&W Pro Series 1911

I like everything about it, a lot! I have a Kimber Stainless Target II in 9 mm and love it, my favorite 1911 pistol. I really like the grips on your pistol also.
