1932 Outdoorsman with hole at top of front strap

I'm a retired lawyer, not a machinist, and I can't figure out how you'd get a drill - and a tap - in line to make that hole in the first place.

Reloading a Winchester Model 1873 chambered in 357/38

IIRC, the 1873 action feeds cartridges straight into the chamber as the bolt closes, unlike the later 92/94 actions with their angled followers. I wouldn't think the 1873 cares if the cartridge is longer or shorter (357/38), they all just go straight in. Unlike in the 92/94 style, where a 38...

    9mm Snub-nose

Snubbies tend to have short to very short ejector rods. In the S&W line, you need a 3" or longer barrel before a 38 Special case is fully extracted from the cylinder. A 9mm case is almost a half inch shorter, and even less of the case is in the cylinder if you're using moon clips. And yes...

That's a Smith & Wesson. And you've had your six.

Eastwood seemed to be pretty careful about weapons in the movies he was in charge of.

    Another disappointing gun show

Sadly for us bargain hunters, I believe that's actually part of the technical definition of a "free market" - both parties aware of all facts relevant to the exchange and neither being under any compulsion to buy or sell. I still look for undervalued buys, though.

    Pocket Pistol

Don't Ask Don't Tell was official US Gubmint policy for may years, so it must be an approved approach to something you don't want other people knowing about, amiright? And Catch Me If You Can is more than a movie title. (A pretty good movie, IIRC, and based on a real guy.)

    BK Grip Adapters for S&W J, K, L and N Frames

Well the Post Office has decided to raise rates again, so the postage is now $9.25 for the Small Flat Rate Priority Mail box that BK Grips has always used.

What happened here? Was it the pistol or the ammo manufacturer?

This is what I've done in these circumstances, but if you decide to do it, be aware that popping a primer in an empty case will put flame out the end of a short pistol barrel, and (IMHO) leaves enough smell that I don't do it indoors.

    weighing reloads

Cleaning the brass in a wet tumbler with stainless steel pins leaves a very shiny interior. I have a center light that fits the Dillon 550 tool heads, and even with tall revolver cartridges where I can't see the powder directly, I can see the reflection in the shiny case wall. I've never had...

What's the truth: Revolvers and suppressors?

I believe at least some of the tunnel rats in VietNam used suppressed 1911s that had a slide lock to keep the action closed after the shot was fired. All the firing noise had to go out the front of the barrel (and so through the suppressor) and there was no "regular" action cycling noise. The...

What's the truth: Revolvers and suppressors?

And nobody makes a good holster for 'em anyway.

    Concealed carry in Post Offices

I thought that these rules apply only to mailing of handguns, and that anyone could mail a long gun.

    Alternative to .38 Special Recoil

The LCR is indeed a lovely little piece for 32 shooters. The top end 327 Federal loads I checked (100g HP, 8-9 years ago) were in low 357 Magnum territory in terms of energy, and kicked just as much. If you don't like 357 Magnum out of a steel J frame (I have fired 1 round, to say I've done...

    Alternative to .38 Special Recoil

Update your twice-daily dose of Turmeric and see if that helps. It did for me. (I still don't shoot anything over 38 Special power, though, and not much of that any more.)

    Alternative to .38 Special Recoil

To be fair, 32 Long and H&R Mag ammo IS available, but not usually in stores. You have to order it, and the shipping gets expensive for small quantities. (Of course, online, 38 Special choices are even greater.)
