    Yes Frank, That is correct. If I hit the rear of the gun while squeezing the trigger it would fire. I had the trigger pulled all the way back, it would not travel any farther but it did not release and fire the round. Wait! I think I misread your response. The slide was in the correct position...

    SW40VE, Not your typical FTF. Not an ammo problem. Something mechanical with the sear or trigger. I pull the trigger all the way back but it never released the striker? If I hit the rear of the gun while squeezing the trigger, it would fire.
