    4" bbl .38 Masterpiece

Sounds like you’re looking for something like this? This is a 14-1, early ‘60’s I think, that came out of southern California. Gold bead front sight. I haven’t lettered it but always wondered if it might have come from LAPD or some other area department. A very slick piece and a real pleasure to...

New Ruger/Marlin 1894 .357 caliber lever rifle, shooting impressions....

I’ve been very pleased with my Ruger/Marlin 357 Classic. Function has been 100% with everything and accuracy is really excellent. Can’t ask for more.

    Mags for M -1 carbine

I have used the KCI Korean made 15 round mags with complete success. Haven’t had a single one that didn’t work properly. Most of the bigger places that sell magazines carry them.

    AR15 pic thread

I actually owned one just like that back when they came out. I decided it was too gaudy and sent it down the road. Idiot!!

In light of so many 9mm threads - list your 9mm pistols here!

Kind of embarrassing isn’t it? I had an old 39 not long ago but just couldn’t warm up to it. Go figure.

    owners of ruger/marlin .357 & .44 mag. carbines

The lower front sight will solve that problem. I think I used the lowest bead sight that Lyman had and it works fine. I also have a .44 carbine. That one would have had the same problem but I put a Skinner rear on it. That added enough extra height on the rear to make the sights useable without...

    owners of ruger/marlin .357 & .44 mag. carbines

The factory front sight on my .357 carbine was too high. The gun shot 6” low at 25 yds. with the rear sight at full elevation. I replaced the front sight with a lower Lyman bead and the problem was solved. It now shoots to POA at 50 yds. with the rear sight in the second notch. Not a big deal...

    Baby chief?

Here are a couple of mine. The first is serial no. 66078. It’s from 1952. The second one is a prewar gun from Oct. 1937. Prewar guns are lots less common. This one has some finish wear but it’s still a good shooter. These are just cool little guns!

NC concealed carry without permit - hope for veto

We’ve had permit less concealed carry here for some time now. Carry what you want where you want. Loaded in your car or on your person is fine. Most gunfree zones are banned so you can carry in schools, gov’t meetings, whatever. No formal training requirements or tests to pass. No background...

If You Could Only Own One Smith & Wesson… What Would It Be?

4” Model 19 for maximum versatility. Good for plinking, target shooting, EDC, small game and even big game shooting. Or I might go with Skeeter’s long ago choice of the 5” Model 27.

Can't be stupid near a buffalo herd

I have been traveling in Yellowstone and watching the tourons since the late ‘50’s and the only thing that surprises me is that more people don’t get killed. My grandmother lived at Pahaska Teepee from about 1915 and she used to tell me stories about the stupid tourists back then. There weren’t...

    About IGGY!

I’ve known plenty of Wyoming “characters,” good and bad, in my day but Chip is one of the best I ever met. He’s the real deal. Prayers for him and Linda.
