A five inch barrel is indicative of a 38/200 revolver, also known as the British Victory. These were .38 S&W revolvers shipped to Britian on the lend lease program. Many returned to the States poorly rechambered for .38 special.
The "Made In USA" mark appeared in May, 1922. Prior to that date, there were no markings placed on that area of the frame by the factory.
