Best Defence Ammo for a M&P Shield 9mm

I've been very happy with Hornaday Critical Duty. As for the Shield itself, I've ran a few thousand rounds through it with zero failures. At least a dozen different loads. The bad thing is that it's so good I have no desire to replace it which slows down my new pistol purchases. Sent from my...

Poll: Shield owners...who has the Apex kit and who likes it stock?

I have no problem with my stock trigger. I'm sure I would like the Apex more. Stock gets me where I need to be at 10 yards. 15 isn't usually much different.

    BG still has problems

Kind of bums me out. When the no laser model came out I was excited. It is the perfect sidekick for my Shield. Same functions. After reading many negative reports I think I need to shop around to find a .380 that fits my needs as a sub compact.

Poll: Shield owners...who has the Apex kit and who likes it stock?

There is some perception that if you're gun is modified them you are more eager to use it. Of course these are not "gun" people. Not all guns are inspected for modifications after being used in a self defense situation. Many times it's not asked or mentioned. Personally, I've pulled some pretty...

How Many Shields is Too Many?

I have no idea what some people are talking about. I live my Shield. I have damaged tendons in my shooting hand and I have no problem hitting nice groups with my Shield. The stock trigger is great. Before buying I looked at upgrade options but feel I have no need for them. Sent from my XT1080...

School me on the Shield 9mm

    1. Safety on when going in holster. Then off when secure in holster. Easy as pie. 2. Very controlled recoil. 3. Very accurate. 4. I love my stock trigger which is great because I personally don't want to carry a modified gun. I love my G19 but I also have full confidence in the Shield. Sent...

Poll: Shield owners...who has the Apex kit and who likes it stock?

This is why I no longer use a LC9 for light carry. I had no confidence in that trigger. My Shield is stock and it feels great. Accuracy is beyond my expectations for a light carry. Like it or not, you and your gun will be scrutinized if used in self defense. I prefer a factory stock firearm that...

    M&P 9 Shield or Ruger LC9

I've had 2 LC9's. Never had a problem with either. Feed everything I put through them. Great little carry guns. Don't care for the trigger. Shield trigger feels better for sure. LC9 feels better IWB but not by much. They are close. If Ruger changes the trigger it will get interesting. I wish...
