So I've been around guns all my life; But only in the last few years have I really started to gather a "couple" for my own collection. I'm into everything really... My collection or arsenal or whatever you want to call it ranges from a beat up old Mosin Nagant to a Custom AR-15 that I built around March, and from a Glock 23 to a 1911.... and lots of variations in-between.
In February I was going through a rough spot... Think "Old Country song" and you'll get the picture
Anyway I needed a pick-me-up.... so I decided I would treat myself to my dream gun.
Now being raised watching those darned Dirty Harry movies.... my dream gun has always been a Smith 29. I scrounged all over town and found through a friend of a friend a man who bought a 29-2 back in the 70's and never fired it... just kept it in his closet for protection or some such. He agreed to sell it to me for $700
(The turn ring you see on the cylinder is 100% my fault... and I'm proud of it)
Then a month or two ago I decided that feeding the .44 for all of my revolver needs was too expensive for me. So I decided a .357 was in order... Enter Smith 19-6 for $450
29 & 19
And then yesterday while I was working the gunshow I stumbled on this here 66-2 in an older gentleman's case for $350
I had to do the polishing on it to make it look the way it does now. I wouldn't have but this one had lots of scratches and some nicks on it.
last year I had 0 Smiths..... now I have 3! I do believe I have developed some disease or something
Fink.
