The next one from Germany
Hi guys,
My name is Thomas and I am a German hunter and sport shooter.
My home place is in the area of Paderborn (maybe some of you know the place)
I came to this forum because searching for information regarding a M41 pistol.
Now I purchased one actually made in January 1989 in a very good condition.
Furtheremore I own also a 627 8-shot in .357.
Hope to find more info and thanks to board team.
PS: sorry if my english is not good enough to understand.

Hello from Wisconsin. I've been as close to Paderborn as the airport that it shares with Bielefeld - nice area. I've been to Germany a couple of times and when appropriate to the conversation I will ask about handgun ownership. I never was able to speak to anyone that actually owned a handgun or had a close friend or family member that did. One person did mention that an outdoor handgun range(Southern Germany) required suppressors to be used to limit the noise. He also mentioned that suppressors wern't regulated - only the gun itself. Can you tell us if this is true?

Thanks at all for this very friendly wellcome!
@Sammler66
Yes it is not easy to find people in germany they owns guns.
Regarding the suppressors (you mean silencers?) it is only a military issue. For private reasons it is not allowed to use silencers.
The law is that a silencer is a important part of a gun and you have to have an offical need to get allowed the usage.
That means the suppressor is not regulated but you can´t purchase one because you will never get the permission.
There are some exceptions e.g. for hunting on cemeteries but the whole thing is ridiculous.
