New E Series owner
This will be my first Smith & Wesson AND my first 1911.
Just picked up a SW1911 "E" Series, the full stainless version.
Haven't shot it yet but, I am really looking forward to it.
I've shot several Colt 1911's but, I have never owned one.
Looking forward to discussing and learning about them.

Welcome from Texas ZLDRider. Great forum for all things S&W, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.
My S&W 1911 was one of the most precise handguns I ever shot right out of the box.
You will love it.

Congrats. I have had mine for about a month. I hope you have an easier time with disassembly and reassembly than I did. I had fun learning to use the "Tool" and keeping the full-size recoil spring from flying all over the place while I struggled to put it back together. It does get easier and shoots great--my most accurate pistol.

No Disassemble!
I know what you mean. LOL
Damn thing flew across the room the first time. And getting it back on is a bear. I'm getting better at it but, I still haven't figured out how to take out the slide stop.
Supposedly, you line up the slide stop with the notch on slide and just push it out from the right side.
I can't get it to budge.
Is there a trick to it?
